.Good.Girl.

a poem written about me..FOR me.. wow

Good Girl
for Chevy

One day
We're gonna
STOP
looking at
Book covers
And start
By reading them
First

Shy. Wild
Grown. Child
Mild. Quiet.
Meek
Are all seeking something
and it is journey
And not the result
That's important

Wild girl might be good girl
Good girl might be broken
Grown girl might be child
Childish one, full woman
Our job is the journey

The task of looking deeper
To uncover the unseen
And marvel at the gifts
Unfolded. Spread before us
Banquets of what becomes

When you watch
Flowers open
To reveal the sweetness
Beneath

Fire engine red dreads
Worlds of creativity
In the head that
Carries them
Cool blond bobs
Capable of distilling
Worst pain
And transforming
Into Joy
Sheared shadows of hair
Cut in triumphant dares
Of "can you SEE me now?
Long layers, eyes shaded
But daring to be CHICA
Brown bangs obscuring blue eyes
Of fiercest pacifists
Carefully coiffed curls
Rumpled by dialysis chairs
Pumping joy into others
As surely as the needle
pumps "wait until tomorrow"
Into her veins
Practical ponytails
As they run down
Their dreams.

Good girls are
Puzzle boxes
Seek to find the triggers
That will spring
And release
Our treasures.
Be vigilant, steadfast
Assured.
We like that.
Be kind and mindful
Of our quirks, mainly
Just BE there,
Paddling gently
Waiting for wakes
Of good girl
To swamp you,
Roll your boards
And rescue you
Soaked
But
Triumphantly
Happy
For
The
Unique
Experience!

We are angles, remember
All that is really
Required of us,
Is that we work to
Save you.
We are capable.
